Hi Everyone, Smiley

I've started using Pardus Linux 2009.2 and I'm very impressed by it!
It's the best KDE distro out in the wild:)

The only problem I'm facing right now is that VLC media player (version 1.1.4) exits any time I open a video. It"s very strange.
I'm using a Toshiba Satellite L40 laptop with an Intel GMA 965 graphic card.
The system is up-to-date.

Has anybody else noticed this? Is there a solution so far? Videos, played with the other players also seem a bit choppy.

Thank you for your help in advance!

Hi eyegee

We need more information if we want to help you with this problem.
Can you run VLC in a console and copy-paste the stdout here ?
(btw, Did you try deactivating kwin compositing effects ?)

Thank you for your answer!

I've already disabled KWin, that did not solve the problem.
I will paste the Konsole output over here, I hope it helps:

So this is my VLC output. The program exited at the "Segmentation fault" part.
I think I'm going to google that now!
